________________________________________________________________ County Championships Varsity 3rd and JV 1st!!! In a hard fought battle, the varsity places 3rd behind Tatnall and Charter. The dynamic duo of Andrew Hally and John Walker cruise to 2nd and 3rd overall, proving they are the best 1-2 punch in the state! George Steinhoff comes back from injury to place 10th, closely followed by teammate Asa Bloom in 16th. Freshman Michael Keehan rounds out the scoring with a gutsy performance after battling a sore hamstring for 2 weeks. The JV absolutely CRUSHED IT, taking 7 of the top 10 spots! Kyle McCarthy and Jake Holmes went 2-3, closely followed by Danny Deckers 5th, Jacob Stuchlik 6th and Colin Parker 8th. Only a few weeks ago, Colin was in an immobilizer brace after suffering a broken knee cap and 18 stitches after being hit by a car. Definitely the gutsiest come back! Next up....States! Andrew led the JV with a _________________________________________________________________ Senior Day!!! Dual vs. St. Mark's As senior year goes, today was the first of many lasts. Watching the seniors run their final dual meet, and come away with a final win, was inspirational. You stand on the shoulders of giants who ran before you, but have solidified a great legacy of your own. Dating back to 1993, our XC team has not lost a dual meet. None of you were alive, and many were not even born in that century when this streak started! Understand where you came from, and recognize that you are part of something great. Seniors...we are not done yet! We still have the N5CTA meet, County's and State's. Let's get it done!!! _________________________________________________________________ Joe O'Neill Invitational With key runners Steinhoff and Parker temporarily on the sidelines, Freshman Michael Keehan and Sean Banko stepped up yet again to help the Varsity place 2nd in a close race with Tatnall (70-73). Andrew Hally and John Walker placed 2nd and 3rd, both breaking the tape under 16:00 for the 2nd time this season! Asa Bloom rounded out the scoring for varsity. JVA had commanding win by a pack with only a :39 spread! Andrew Caverly lead the way with Jake Holmes, Andrew Insley, Lucian Peach and Danny Deckers close behind. Not to be outdone, JVB had 10 of the top 11 finishers! Kyle McCarthy lead the way with Justin Stafford, David Fielding, Robby Wiest and Joe Fassano rounding out the scoring. _________________________________________________________________ Manhattan Invitational JV, lead by Steve Banko and Jacob Holmes...win!!!
