Nike Cross Nationals Qualifiers

Michael Keehan, Sean Banko, Aidan Higley, Ryan Banko, Luke Riley, Connor Elliot and Michael Migliore ALL MAKE ALL-STATE!!!
This is only the 4th time in school history that ALL 7 runners from Salesianum have made all state in the same year.
They join the legendary teams of 1973, 1979 and 1995.

43rd State Title!!!

On a cold and windy day, the boys of 18th and Broom scored only 19 points, packing all 7 runners into the top 10! This was the lowest 7th man finish in state history, and the 2nd lowest score in DI history!
Led by a back-to-back individual state title, Michael Keehan kept his record breaking season going by running the fastest time in school history at Brandywine Creek in 16:31. A pack of yellow followed Michael, placing 3,4,5,6! Senior Sean Banko 3rd, Junior Aidan Higley 4th (2nd fastest returning runner next year), Freshman Ryan Banko 5th (fastest Freshman of the day) and Sophomore Luke Riley 6th (fastest Junior of the day). Getting the last spot to uto-qualify for states was Senior Connor Elliot. Rounding out scoring was Michael Migliore in 10th, and 20th overall that day.
What an amazing way to close out a fantastic season!!!

The boys from 18th and Broom are County Champions again!
For the 3rd year in a row, Salesianum is the New Castle County Champions. Often times harder to win than the state championship, Sallies pitted themselves against the premier powerhouses in the state. Establishing themselves as the team to beat at The Joe O'Neill Invite, the team spent no time establishing themselves as the team to beat by the mile marker. Being a second half team, the guys closed hard to get ALL 7 VARSITY RUNNERS in the top 25 and ALL 7 making All-County!!!
The senior duo of Michael Keehan and Sean Banko placed 2nd and 4th. Hot on their heels were a pack led by Aidan Higley in 9th, Freshman Ryan Banko in 12th (fastest freshman of the day) and comeback kid, Luke Riley in 14th (2nd fastest sophomore of the day) rounding out the teams scoring. Also making All-County was veteran senior/captain Connor Elliot and Junior Michael Migliore.

In the JV race, Freshman Matt Filliben showed the county that he'll be a force to be reckoned with for the next 3 years! Quickly taking the lead at the 1/2 mile marker, Matt never looked back and went wire to wire for the win in 17:58! Junior track speedster, Conor Ryan, stepped it up this season for XC and placed 2nd in 18:02! Last years most improved, Frank Frabizzio, showed that he's the real deal finishing 4th. Comeback story of the year, Alec Troy, placed 5th. Alec spent almost the entire season in the fitness center on the elliptical or bike. Alec showed mental grit, determination and dedication to the team, making it back for county's! Rounding out the scoring in 7th and making a gigantic improvement was Junior Ian Fielding.

3 races...3 wins at The Joe O'Neill Invitational

Led by the FASTEST DUO IN STATE HISTORY, Varsity establishes themselves as the team to beat in Delaware!
Michael Keehan and Sean Banko run side by side to 15:17 and 15:18 finishes. BOTH times break Coach Pat Hally's school course record and are now the 3rd and 4th FASTEST TIMES IN STATE HISTORY! Michael was :27 seconds faster than last year and Sean :44!
Making big improvements from last season were Aidan Higley 8th in 16:22, improving by :35! Freshman Ryan Banko was the teams 4th man in 16:42! Making his second varsity start, Michael Migliore was the teams 5th man, 18th overall in 16:45, improving by :42.
JV A was up next, led by the Sophomore/Freshman duo of Luke Riley and Matthew Filliben in 16:46 and 16:48. Both cracked into the top 7 varsity and would have been top 20 in the Varsity race!
Leading the JV B with a HUGE win was Brendan Clerval in 18:18. Brendan improved by :40 from last year! Hot on his heels was Thomas Parker in 18:28, improving by 1:21 from last season!
