Andrew Wade, Matt Reyher, Joe Casini,Tommy Zabielski State championship
The boys of 18th and Broom come up HUGE in the 2011 State Championships!!! Andrew Wade, Tommy Zabielski, Joe Casini and Matt Reyher become the 415,416,417,418 State champions in Salesianum Schools running programs history in winning the 4x800! Richey Murray and Justin Gregg sore to uncharted heights with HUGE PR's in the pole vault jumping 12'6'' and 10'6'' for 2nd and 6th place! James Goodavage and Jarod Lewis throw awesome and place 3rd and 6th in the shot put. Lewis becomes the 3rd best Freshman shot putter in Salesianum School History! Matt Reyher comes up big in the open 800 placing 5th overall having to run out of the slow heat! Click HERE for results. Monday, January 31st NO SCHOOL
(OPTIONAL FOR THE FUNERAL. MANDATORY FOR 2:00 P.M. PRACTICE. )
Be at Sallies at 9:00 a.m. in full school dress code with Jacket.
There will be a shuttle bus to St. Anthony's for the funeral mass.
Pack a lunch for after the mass. We'll watch a running movie at school while we eat!
Practice will begin at 2:00 p.m.
In honor of Rita Rosaio, and in order to allow everyone on staff to attend her funeral Mass, Salesianum will CLOSE SCHOOL on Monday, January 31. In light of this decision, it is our hope that as many of us as possible will make every reasonable effort to attend both the visitation and funeral as a sign of support for Rita’s family, who shared their mother and grandmother so generously with us for 42 years. Please continue to pray for the Rosaio family throughout this weekend and in the weeks and months to follow.

At this time of year, we can't miss runs and not work hard. Only 21 days until STATES! You all have put in so much work and you don't want to loose your fitness. I know it's cold outside, but you are tougher then the cold. Think of it as another challange to overcome. Everyone on our team is great at overcoming any challange and I know you can do it!

Haverford College Invitational
Fast times, high jumps and fun times at the 2nd N5CTA Invitational.
Highlights
Sophomore Nick "Mac" Miller got a HUGE pr in the HJ clearing 5'10" for the WIN! Chris Philips jumped a strong 5'6" for 5th place. The 4x800 of Zabielski 2:07, Casini 2:08, Arauco-Shapiro 2:11 and Wade 2:08 got 2nd Phil Claudy and Nick Natalli were the 2nd fastest 9th graders in the 55 and 200. Andrew Wade was the 2nd fastest Junior in the 400 placing 10th. Tommy Z showed depth doubling back in the open 800 for 2nd place in 2:07. Pete Renai was the fastest freshman in the 800 with a lifetime PR of 2:21. Scott Davis and Eric Moore placed 7th/8th both running 4:48 in the 1600. The 4x200 of Rea :25, Tullier :25, O'Donnell :24 and Lunguard :24 finished 6th. Collin LeNoir was the fastest sophomore in the 3200. Jared Lewis was the best freshman in the shot, placing 8th with a lifetime best of 37-8.5 James Goodavage placed 5th in the shot with a 39-8 toss. Team placed 7th of 21 teams. Only 8.5 points out of 3rd place.

Distance runners take it to new heights!!!
We met at 6:15 a.m. for a killer hill workout. This type of dedication is inspiring. Running through the dark trails with head lights was fun. God blessed us with a beautiful sunrise on our cool down back. Dunkin Donuts was great after the workout!
